The project Media Aesthetics was designed to explore current media practices in order to generate cross-disciplinary theoretical and analytical insights into various medias’ materiality and forms of mediation. We proposed a web-design using current computer GUI metaphors such as buttons, scroll text and pop-up menus – making all these elements from ready-mades and photographing them to create the graphic elements for the website. The buttons are boxes from Ikea, the scroll is a backdrop in a photo studio and the scrollbar is part of a clothing-rack.
